I won an award... it's on the wall in my office
[Posted by Dave Haber on Tuesday, 09/02/08 6:53 pm] [Full Blog] [Digg This]

Our dear friend Victor Spinetti, who was born in Wales on September 2, 1933, is 75 years young today!

Victor was in every Beatles movie (except for Let It Be). He was the TV director in A Hard Day's Night, Professor Foot in Help! and the Army Sergeant in Magical Mystery Tour.

Victor frequently attends Beatles fests and other Beatles related events in America, and fans loving seeing him at every opportunity. He will be taking his acclaimed one-man show, A Very Private Diary – Revisited, to the Scottish Highlands next week, at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on September 9 and 10, as part of a UK tour.

Victor has said George Harrison asked him to be in the Beatles first films because George's mother loved Victor, and George said to Victor "Me mum will only go to see them if you're in them".

Well, we feel the same way! You've won our award for favorite Beatles person, and it's on the wall in our office! Happy Birthday Victor, from everybody here at What Goes On, and all the Beatles fans all over the world!
