[Posted by Dave Haber on Thursday, 07/10/08 7:59 pm] [Full Blog] [Digg This]

This Saturday, July 12, is the Grand Opening Festival of the botanical garden museum of New England Wild Flower Society in Framingham, Massachusetts. From 9:00-7:00 the public is invited to opening festivities of the exhibition featuring thirteen Dinosaur-sized natural wood Big Bugs sculptures by New York artist David Rogers.

These sculptures and amazing stories of plants and insects are sure to engage the entire Boston area in the web of life.

And making the Big Bugs celebration complete will be the most famous big bugs of all! HELP!, New England's own Beatles Tribute Band, will performing live from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. This will be the greatest celebration of rock history meeting natural history ever!

"We play Beatles music because we love it", says Marc Hertzberg, Bandleader of 'HELP!', and dedicated conservationist. "Bringing the Beatles to the Beetles is an exciting way to support the plant conservation work of the Society and have a great party too."

The gorgeous 45-acre botanical garden museum of New England Wild Flower Society is located at 180 Hemenway Road in Framingham. The show runs daily July 12-October 31. Admission, including opening day concert, is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students with ID, $4 for children 3-18, and free for members and children under 3. All events are Rain or Shine.
