Anybody who has ever seen the Beatles perform will immediately know that name. William F. Ludwig II was the founder of the Ludwig Drum Company. Ringo and William F. Ludwig II in 1964 It was a Ludwig drum kit that was placed on the stage for Ringo to play on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964. So taken was Ringo with the Ludwig drums that after the show he asked Mr. Ludwig to make a custom set for him.
