Today, April 15, is tax day in the US, the day Federal and State income taxes must be payed by. As Beatles fans, we can't help but think today of George Harrison's song, Taxman, which is played frequently on the radio today, all across the country.

George Harrison said he was inspired to write Taxman when he discovered how much he was earning after taxes. Because of how much The Beatles were earning at the time, they were in the top tax bracket in England. George said, "Taxman was when I first realised that even though we had started earning money, we were actually giving most of it away in taxes. It was and still is typical."

Other Beatles songs that come to mind today are:
  • Can't Buy Me Love
  • Money
  • Baby You're A Rich Man
  • A Hard Day's Night (You know I work all day, to get you money)
  • Come And Get It (Will you walk away from a fool and his money?)
  • Lady Madonna (Who finds the money when you pay the rent?)
  • Revolution (if you want money for people with minds that hate)
  • She's Leaving Home (we gave her everything money could buy)
And, the antithesis of Tax Day, You Never Give Me Your Money.
